Thua (Teona) Magalashvili is a photojournalist and documentary photographer based in New York City.
Born and raised in Tbilisi, Georgia, she graduated from Caucasus University (Masters Degree in Management, 2018); Ilia State University (Business Administration, 2010); Mikeladze Central Music School (Piano Department, 2007).
Thua spent a decade (2005 - 2015) working in the field of Arts and Culture (Marjanishvili Theatre; TIFT, etc.) in marketing & management departments.
In the years 2016 - 2018, she worked as a Photojournalist in the fields of Education and Media Journalism at the NGO “Civic Development Institute” (Tbilisi, Georgia) and “Caucasus Network of Georgia” (Austria, Vienna).
In 2019 Thua moved to the US where she photographed streets of New York honing her skills in visual storytelling.
Thua is a 2023 Graduate from International Center of Photography (ICP), Documentary Practice and Visual Journalism Program.
